History

Throughout history, Syriaball was a proud trampling ground for stronger countryballs. It all started in the Ancient Near East, File:Eblaite-icon.png Eblaball was founded around 3000 BCE and reached its zenith between 2500 and 2400 BCE. Its language was closely related to other Mesopotamiam countryballs and is among the oldest known written languages.

File:Eblaite-icon.png Eblaball was conquered by File:Akkadian-icon.png Akkadianball, but later re-emerged under Amoritesball control in the early 2nd millennium BCE, flourishing until it was conquered by File:Hittites-icon.png Hittitesball. The region was also home to significant city-states like File:Mariote-icon.png Mariball and File:Ugarit-icon.png Ugaritball, that developed the world's first alphabet in the 15th century BCE. Later, both File:Mariote-icon.png Mariball and File:Ugarit-icon.png Ugaritball fell under Amoritesball control.

Throughout that time, Syriaball was contested by various powers, including Sumerball, File:Akkadian-icon.png Akkadianball, File:Assyria-icon.png Assyriaball, File:Ancient Egypt-icon.png Ancient Egyptball, File:Hittites-icon.png Hittitesball, Hurriansball, Mitanniball, Amoritesball, and Babylonball. Syriaball became known as Polandball of Middle East because no other territory is so easily conquered, though, in terms of geography, it makes sense and explains why its parents loved mountains so much.

In the end, File:Assyria-icon.png Middle Assyriaball eventually asserted control over Syriaball by the 13th centuries BCE. As File:Assyria-icon.png Middle Assyriaball weakened in the late 11th century BCE, the coastal regions saw the rise of File:Canaan-icon.png Canaanball and File:Phoenicia-icon.png Phoeniciaball, while File:Aramea-icon.png Aram-Damascusball replaced Amoritesball in the interior.

In the 10th century BCE, File:Assyria-icon.png Neo-Assyriaball invaded the Levant, defeating an alliance made of File:Aramea-icon.png Aram-Damascusball, File:Ammon-icon.png Ammonball, File:Kingdom of Qedar-icon.png Kingdom of Qedarball, File:Kingdom of Israel-icon.png Kingdom of Samariacube, File:Phoenicia-icon.png Phoeniciaball and File:Hittites-icon.png Neo-Hittitesball. After the fall of File:Assyria-icon.png Neo-Assyriaball, File:Neo-Babylonia-icon.png Neo-Babyloniaball briefly dominated the region until its decline around 539 BCE.
